Affordable Housing for Homeless – Udupi

In association with Udupi Municipal Corporation, Kinfratech has found a practical solution to many homelessness in different villages of Udupi through the construction of the tiny affordable houses.

The major challenge of this project was that the constructions were done at very difficult interior locations without even proper roads.

Each house constructed is 1 BHK and has cost about 1.5 lakh to build. Many of the building materials were low-cost materials, and all of the labor was done in a volunteer effort.

Housing assistance for the Homeless – Udupi

“HOSA BELAKU HOSA BADUKU” – HOUSING FOR THE HOMELESS

At KINFRATECH we intend to engage ourselves actively in social initiatives for the betterment of our society. We had one such opportunity to involve us with the project “Pramod Madhwaraj Badavane“ – housing for the homeless, an initiative by the Udupi Municipal Corporation.

The mission of this project was to provide housing for 25 homeless families. Honorable Minister Pramod Madhwaraj along with Udupi municipality and Kinfratech formulated this initiative – “Hosa Belaku – Hosa Baduku” with a vision to bring in a sense of new hope and a new life to these families.

Idea was to make use of the state and central government housing schemes under the Housing for All project for the economically weaker sections clubbed with other benefits that were available under social welfare schemes. But this implementation could be achieved only if the beneficiaries had land in their own names.

Initiatives for School

Bharathi Higher Primary School is a Unit of RadhaSomayya Foundation established in the year 1926 in Kunthalnagar of Manipura Village in Udupi District. This school was established with a vision to enable every child; regardless of the economic or social background he or she came from, a right to be educated.

We at Kinfratech want to help India get to 100% education someday, and is working towards this vision in partnership with RadhaSomayya Foundation to help achieve that.

Kinfratech is addressing the need for better educational infrastructure and building basic needs such as classrooms, health and hygiene facilities at schools – clean drinking water and separate toilets for boys and girls, advanced educational aids such as libraries, etc.
